About Laurel

It wasn't until high school that I found a love for taking pictures.  They weren't perfectly exposed or had the best composition, but I didn't really care about that.  I just loved capturing the moment to freeze and look back on.  After I got them developed I numbered them on the back and put them in a showbox.  Yes, I was OC like that and continued to number my pictures until I switched over to digital in 2004.

Like pretty much every "mother turned photographer" story it wasn't until I had my daughter that I started to perfect my picture taking.  I read, took some classes, read, joined some online photographer forums and read some more.  I'm still learning evreyday.  NOW I care about the perfectly exposed and composed photo.  It's what I strive for, that AND capturing everyday life moments.

As a mother, I know how time flies.  I am ALWAYS in my children's faces, snapping away and  snapping away from afar.... capturing their everyday life.... documenting everything so I have something to look back at and remember.

I grew up an AF brat moving 6 times throughout my childhood and because if that I have friends all over the world.  Before photography I was a special education teacher specializing in learning disablitlies and I also worked at the GAP parttime for 13 years!  I have an amazing and supportive husband and two adorable (and crazy) kids.

I am truly blessed to be doing what I do and LOVE every moment of it!
